Brief
Department of Finance was established in 1989. The mission of this Department is to provide students strong training in finance, so that they can shoulder the challenges of the turbulent financial markets in the 21st century.
The department covers all major fields of finance such as corporate finance, investment, international finance, risk management, real estate finance, etc. The Department first offered the undergraduate program in 1989, then the master program in 1993, then the Ph.D program in 1997, and finally the EMBA program in 1998. These four well-integrated programs enable the Department to become a leading supplier of financial professionals in the financial markets. As the deregulation of local markets continues and the integration of local markets into the global markets deepens, more opportunities will emerge during these processes. Thus, this Department will definitely play an important role in this era with our distinguished program, faculty, and alumni.
History and Mission
In the past several decades, Taiwan has experienced tremendous economic growth. The rapid growth in economy has led Taiwan to becoming an Asia-Pacific financial center. In light of the globalization of local corporations and financial institutions, the Department of Finance was established in 1989 to meet the surging demand for financial professionals. Moreover, to promote advanced studies in finance, the Department not only established the master program in 1993 but also offered the Ph.D program in 1997. These well-integrated programs have enhanced the Department's ability to provide the society top-rated financial management talent.
